The Home Office has just announced an update on the processing times for visa applications submitted outside of the UK. This includes visas for partners, spouses, and child dependents. Due to the ongoing war crisis in Ukraine, the UKVI had previously extended the processing time from an average of 3 months to up to six months or 24 weeks and suspended the priority service globally.
In a recent development, the Home Office has sent emails to applicants with two pieces of good news. The first is that they hope to resume the previous standard processing time and priority service for new applications, though the exact date has not been confirmed.
The second piece of good news is that for those with existing or pending family visa applications that have not yet received a decision, the Home Office will now offer the Priority Service. This service will process applications within 15 working days, instead of 30 days, for a fee of £573.
The Home Office will prioritize applications in date order, with the oldest outstanding applications being contacted first by the UKVI.
This is a developing story, and we will provide more updates as they become available.
